- Qualified Birmingham University, 1991
- Obtained Master of Science research degree
at Manchester University, 1995-7
- Completed Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Edinburgh
Royal College of Surgeons in 1997 which enabled me to undertake a
5-year consultant training programme in Sheffield between
1998 and 2003 which was recognised with the:
- specialist FDS (Rest Dent) examination again
at the Edinburgh RCS
Specialist in: Prosthodontics,
Periodontics, Endodontics & Restorative Dentistry
General practice: 6 part-time
positions in dental practices in Birmingham and Manchester, 1992-2001.
Hospital employment: Birmingham,
Doncaster, Bedford, Manchester, Leicester and Sheffield,
1992-2003
Present positions:
Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Torbay Hospital, Torquay where
I work 3 days a
week treating patients with Oral Cancer, Cleft Lip and Palate,
developmental lack of teeth, traumatic loss of teeth and parts
of the jaw bone and medical conditions (such as diabetes)
which affect the gums and teeth. I also see patients who
are referred from their dentists to aid diagnosis, treatment
planning or undertaking the treatment within the hospital. In
addition I also work in a private practice one-day a week in
Bournemouth.
Services available at PDP:
- Advanced
Restorative & Implant Dentistry - on referral from your
dentist. This involves the surgical placement of
titanium roots (screws) which can then support crowns,
bridges and dentures
- Snoring appliances - in conjunction
with your doctor or local Respiratory consultant.
These appliances can prevent snoring in patients that
snore with or without Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.
- 2nd opinions - for your peace of mind
or to help your dentist plan your dental treatment.
- Medico-legal reports - on the request
of a Solicitor.
